The waitress that Lois had been showing the sketch to suddenly stopped and looked over her shoulder. A bit of fear crept into the woman's eyes.
"What?" Lois asked, before turning to look herself.
Once she spotted the brunette over by the cakes and really got the chance to look at her, her breath caught in her throat.
Lois took out her phone and sent a quick text message to Veronica: Suspect at Nanette's on 4th and Main. Send back-up stat.
She only hoped that Veronica was near her phone. Lois kept her eyes on the suspect and moved a little closer, hastily shoving the sketch into her purse. She'd be damned if she let the woman leave the shop. Just a little friendly conversation should hopefully hold her attention until Veronica could send someone to arrest the suspect. Or possibly come to make the arrest herself, assuming that the CBI allowed interns to do that.
She stopped right in front of the display case and made a show of looking over the cakes.
"Those look good," she said out loud, only half-addressing the young woman.
