While she was highly irritated at the staff of the precinct, currently, Jennifer found herself staring when Charlie walked through the door. She was so relieved to see him, she ignored his demands of fruit and water and stood up to wrap him in a giant hug.
"Oh thank god you're here." At least somebody was.
"I'd say thank Custer, but he seems to be gone as well." That, she thought, above all, was disconcerting. Jennifer pulled herself away, a little embarrassed now that she'd given off such a display, and at work to boot.
She sat back down and opened the fruit container, picking something out and popping it into her mouth. She wasn't particularly hungry, due to her worry, her stomach was a little off, but she hadn't eaten in a while either. On top of that, considering Charlie's mood - she'd noticed it before, but was really seeing it now - she was afraid that he might sit on her and force her to eat something if she didn't do it willingly. Jennifer followed it up with a drink of water.
"I don't think I've ever seen you like this Charlie." The concern was in her voice. If he wanted to tell her, he would. She thought he would. Maybe not immediately, but eventually.
