The Amazon followed quietly, not too closely but not too far off. She wasn't sure she wanted a crazed possible drunk running around; she'd feel responsible after all. She wasn't sure he wanted an answer to his question, certainly not the one she could offer.
With a sigh, Zoe finally allowed herself to catch up with him. Her hands at her sides, she had no intention of hurting him. Though, restraining him was another issue altogether.
"The City brings who and what it wants. I can't admit to understanding it. I only know what I've been told. It brings people here to serve it, to feed it." She shook her head. "I'm sorry." She meant it.
