The phone went back into his pocket when Zoe handed him the noodles. They were... interesting. He watched Zoe carefully to figure out how it worked, then tried it, himself. They didn't taste anything like what he'd expected.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Zoe. My name is Christian. What do you mean about the 'bringing over' of monuments?"
To him, his search for the graveyard and his appearance in the City were two different things -- as if he expected to see the graveyard where Satine lay, not the graveyard of the City. He wasn't thinking clearly, and the confusion of being pulled from his existence to a new one was still quite evident in everything about him. And why not? It'd been less than five minutes, after all.
