This was boring. It was really boring. He had not come here for this.
He'd simply come here to make a pretty girl happy, at her request. Human drama, and in fact an abundance of human emotions, made Lestat have a shorter fuse. It did not matter that he himself was full of human emotions. Nope.
Being a hypocrite was fine.
I do know how to have a good time.
Lestat shot Eric a look that was, while playful, not entirely friendly. If he found out anything about anyone doing ANYTHING against their will because of Eric, there was going to be a problem. There was no 'solving' a problem of this sort, either. They'd be unable to destroy each other. It would just be pain, and beatings.
I think she likes you.
Despite the set of his jaw and the cold look in his eyes, Lestat did not like the idea of Honour liking people who were not him. That was a fun revelation, too. He was not so fickle as to have stopped caring about any of his other crushes or fixations, but he was vain enough to think no one should like anyone but him. Well, he supposed River and Hannibal could like each other.
The longer the outside chat went on, the worse Lestat felt. Hearing everything, acting like he couldn't. Fighting the urge to just push into all of their minds to find out what it was that they were not saying.
"I need something to do," he said, sort of absently. He flashed a charming smile. "Does anything need doing around here? Decorations, anything?"
