"Very," he said dryly. Drama indeed. He gave serious thought to closing up the store for the day, going home, and locking himself in with his book and leftovers from dinner. An overabundance of drama was... unpleasant.
But he could wait until the unpleasantness played out. From the raised voices outside, there could well be a fight to break up, or a request to see one or both of these two men (one man and one vampire? How exactly did vampires fall in that classification?) out, and it really was his duty to stay. And if Beauty needed a sympathetic ear after, he could stay for that, as well.
He glanced at Eric, eyebrows furrowing slightly, mouth a flat line, otherwise relaxed in the way that people who only looked relaxed because they were waiting to spring into action ever were. "I'm glad. We're friends." There was, however, a hint of reproachfulness in his otherwise mild tone of voice. He was fairly sure that despite his somewhat extended absence, he'd never caused a scene like this, especially on a day that should be special to Beauty.
