Lois was surprised to hear that this was the manager's first foray into managing an Opera House. From what she knew, the City generally seemed to plunk people right into a facsimile of whatever job they did back home.
"So did the City set you up as Opera director or did you apply for the job?" she asked. "I imagine it must be challenging to run the opera house, particularly when some of the employees have been here for over a decade. What are some of the biggest challenges of the job?"
