He carefully encased her, not holding on too tight lest she feel trapped, smothered, or just plain overwhelmed, but he gave the best and most thorough hug he could.
"Of course," he replied, voice deep and low enough as to nearly blend in with the purr. "You need not endure anything alone."
He held on for another moment, then pulled the reigns on his own instinct and gently let go, though he allowed her to pull out of her hug when she felt like it. He tilted his head slightly. "Have you eaten recently?" he asked. It wasn't an unfair question for either of them to ever be asked, just in case they'd forgotten.
