"You are a good cop." Charlie didn't have to say it, but he wanted to. He wanted to make sure she understood that he saw her as someone who could do the job, not just a pretty face. Speaking of her pretty face...
"I find you physically attractive. You take good care of yourself. Your eyes are ones I would like to look into for a long time, perhaps just as I have kissed you. Or right before. Or from across a table." Charlie nodded as he thought of the places he wouldn't mind looking into her eyes. The list was longer than he would have imagined, but it all came down to he wouldn't mind looking into them. "They are a very nice green."
He paused at a street corner, realizing that her building was right across the street. They hadn't been walking that long, yet the City seemed to be testing this moment. Or it thought they wanted to get to someone's place quickly. The detective didn't think long about the why.
"Your hair is soft. You smell good. You move with a confidence you don't always know you feel and have. You are intelligent, thoughtful, and I like your smile." His smile was soft, not quite wistful.
"I like women who want to grow." He was looking across the street again. Or more just away. "Also, women who look like they may be very vocal in bed. I'm usually very good at finding very vocal women." He finally looked back at her with that knowing smile he got when he had come to some decision or revelation.
