Jennifer was wandering into the pastry shop for similar reasons. Getting almost dumped by a guy she wasn't exactly dating wasn't occasion enough to do some heavy drinking, like she'd done after Simon. But it was occasion to binge on some sweets.
Plus, she wasn't ready to go home. She'd bought this dress for a special reason, and now that she was wearing it, she wanted as many people to see her in it as she could. It was a fantastic dress.
She hadn't expected to run into her partner there though. Jennifer wasn't sure what Charlie did when they weren't together, and supposed that she hadn't even thought about it. She knew about Ted and the horse and the cat, but his actual activities? Nothing.
"A big box of anything chocolate." Jen said to the counter girl who was not the one taking Charlie's order. She would never be rude like that. For a moment the girl just looked at her, questioningly. Jen's voice was stern, perhaps uncharacteristically "Chocolate. Put it in the box. A lot of it."
