Or we could do one to the fact that you haven't needed your shotgun yet, but that might be jinxing things, so I don't know if we should do that. Maybe we could toast to pleasant company."
Ted had noticed that Jo had gotten a little quieter for a moment, and her smile seemed genuine but sad. He wanted to ask why, but that would be breaking the no life stories rule. She seemed just as comfortable with that rule as he felt, so he didn't want to shatter it just yet.
