The City was back to normal and his program was glitching everywhere. The theory should have worked! With his little cameras all over he should have been able to track the movements of the streets, triangulating them off of each other. But noooooo. The cameras weren't communicating with each other and randomly failing for no reason. It was annoying! He was back to spending a lot of time at the consoles working through the coding in an effort to figure out what was going wrong. THE MATH SHOULDN'T FAIL, DAMN IT!
When Fred showed up he hadn't heard the elevator, but automatically shifted to allow her access to his lap. This had become a habit of hers that he really didn't mind, even when he didn't pull his nose out of his coding. He'd learned to perfect the art of one handed typing a long time ago so it was nothing for him to wrap an arm around her, kiss her head and still look at the screen.
The question was out of the blue, however and made him blink out of the coding and look at her. "Sure. You could be whatever you wanted to be. You're tenacious that way." It wasn't unlike Fred to be random, but usually something sparked her ideas.
