"She wants you. She needs you. She didn't have a husband. Now she has you." Thomas didn't add that he had given and taken the husband away once before; he wasn't going to say anything about that. "You can stay. She can stay. Everyone's happy!" As if that were the most wonderful thing he'd ever heard.
"I don't yet. I could try-" He glanced around to see if they were really alone. There wasn't a cabin anywhere; he hated that he brought that thing here. He'd only done it for her, even if it had been partly to see what she would do with it. He didn't understand why it even existed; he still didn't, but it did amuse him when the cabin misbehaved.
"I could try making-" If he told, then what would happen? He didn't even know how he could make the crone change him back. He could threaten her, but as long as he was in this body, he couldn't do anything. He could tell the Cowboy God the truth, but he had brought the crone in to balance the power structure, her and a few other powerful types. She had been one of the only ones to take advantage. He was quickly realizing that he didn't have what he needed.
