"Because freaks of nature always belong to someone." The crone shrugged. "Even that large ape thing that was brought through. It belongs to someone. Right now, the City probably. That chicken probably belongs to someone, and they probably would not like it if it were salted and burned. Plus, you can't eat salted and burned chicken. It doesn't taste very good."
She gave the blond a smile before looking back out over the park. Her head tilted as she thought, not at all bothered by the woman's attitude.
"I'm interested because I am. Haven't you ever been interested just because you are? Something pops up, and no matter how odd it seems to be curious about it, you are? Although, curiosity does kill the cat. Actually what kills the cat is the drop off the ledge as it tries to see what that shiny thing just out of reach." She tsked softly. "They never think to let the shiny thing go. They have to have it, even when it's out of reach. Maybe especially because it is out of reach."
