There was no way in hell that Jesse was going to miss this. He was angry at the City for what it did to people, for what it took from them, for the ways it controlled things.
He'd asked Zoe to come with him, mainly because he knew that she'd keep him grounded, and not let him just run up and punch the asshole in the face. Not that she could stop him if he was really determined, but she could talk him down from it. Pretty quick, he thought.
They'd walked in together, and he hadn't let go of her since they'd gotten close to the building. He might have been squeezing her hand a little too much, even.
Jesse found them seats and sat with his arms crossed angrily over his chest for a long time. Listening to the other people asking their questions. Not sure if he had any of his own to ask. But then something came to mind.
Not moving out of his seat, not standing like the others, Jesse just called out his question.
"Why's it you think it's so fuckin funny to abuse the shit outta us?"
