Charlie stood near the door. He wasn't there officially, but he had a feeling that this particular event could bring about problems. He stood just off to the side and watched. He noted how people acted, where they sat, who was there in general. Now and then he'd glance to the stage.
The City was in their midst, but then the City had always been in their midst, hadn't it? They were never without the City, not even when the City wasn't the City. They knew the City as it was, and they knew it as it wasn't. Now they would know it as it could be. He nodded to himself as he waited for the show to get going. This was going to be possibly one of the more interesting evenings he'd had in a while.
