"I wasn't," Rufio said after a moment, as usual even after a moment's hesitation sounding like he could never have believed anything else. He was nervous about saying something like that to her, but once he decided to let her know he was certainly not going to leave his sincerity in doubt.
Rufio nodded, glad that there weren't soul suckers out in this world. "You don't have to worry about me. I've been fighting pirates forever," he said. "Just because I can't fly anymore doesn't mean I'm any worse. I never was able to fly in Neverland and I was the Pan there." He ached for not being able to fly anymore, but he'd get over it. Rufio didn't dwell on the past, it wasn't good to do when you were a leader.
He tilted his head and rolled over on his stomach to be aimed more directly at her without leaving his bean bag chair. "Why's that?"
