Ted's mind went to the places she wasn't mentioning even though she didn't say it. He was immediately picturing toenails somewhere hidden, or a creepy book make of human flesh or something equally horrifying. He didn't think he could learn any more today and hope to sleep any time soon.
"I would. Yes." He nodded. He hadn't planned to leave until she'd finished, to make sure she was okay, but it didn't sound like she was going to be doing what she needed to right away. He couldn't just follow her around like a puppy.
He also really, really, really, really did not want to be a part of digging up a grave. That wouldn't sit well with him, or Charlie, who he would eventually end up telling, because he couldn't keep anything from his friend.
Ted took out one of his new business cards and jotted his cell phone number on the back of it. It made him pause a moment, thinking that he was giving a woman his number to call and it didn't have anything to do with business.
But she couldn't possibly be interested in him in that way.
Could she?
He held the card out for her. "It would be nice to hear from you again."
