He hadn't actually said that he'd made a mistake. In fact, Jack believed that he'd done the best he could with the knowledge he'd had at the time. But he was willing to revise his opinion and he was never going to be so set in his ways that once he came out with a statement, he'd never waver or alter that.
But he did know how to set his pride aside. That was something he was surprisingly good at.
He held up his champagne glass.
"Enough business talk," he said gently.
If she wanted to pursue the conversation further, he'd let her. But tonight wasn't supposed to be about that and he'd much rather stir things back to happier topics, if not back to the previously flirtatious conversation from before.
