"I understood that you had dealt with quite a few interesting situations; how would this one be different?" Zoe didn't skate; she just moved right on past it. She took another bite of salad, chewing. There was no pause at the question; she continued to chew, then swallowed and took a sip of wine.
"If it were something that he needed to deal with, such as a friend needing a hand, he would find some way to come out of his hole. Does he need to lend aid?" There was no smile. It wasn't that the Amazon was unfriendly, and she was pretty good at taking jokes. But, the offer had been placed all the same.
"I am sure Alfred could get in touch with him." She took yet another bite; usually she allowed herself time to enjoy her food. She'd lived in the City for years now, but she still relished real produce. Tonight, she was eating a little quicker than normal, but it could be read as a woman who was used to a quick meal without wolfing things down.
"I could probably come by if you would like." Zoe was about to take another bite, her fork poised to spear another piece of lettuce, before she stopped. She had an idea, but she wasn't sure how Dinah would take to it. She'd discuss it with Alfred later; the man had been around the poor woman during this very trying time. Zoe was thinking about another boy, or young man. A job in a flower shop could do him good, perhaps as a delivery boy. Responsibility might be what he needed. She didn't say anything for now. Not about that anyway. "What would you suggest? Fertilizer sticks or the pour on stuff?"
