"Madam, I assure you, I was not expecting company." The butler, who was much more than that, commented as he started for the door. "It is probably a delivery of some sort, nothing more."
"Don't those go to another entrance." Zoe had seen that at least once in her visits here. She followed Alfred, wondering just what sort of story they'd have to come up with for her being there. The best was that she was checking security at the Manor, seeing as she did work security for Wayne Enterprises. It was just a pain in the ass sometimes.
"I am sure whoever it is, there will be no problem." Alfred smiled at her, trying to reassure her. He knew that she was still dealing with this double life. He knew she'd done it in her life before coming to the City; they'd briefly talked about it once, but he also knew that she didn't like living it. Heroes didn't have to hide behind masks. Not usually.
Zoe stood at the end of the foyer, that was what she believed it was called, and watched as Alfred walked to the door to open it. He smiled when he saw who was on the other side, then frowned slightly.
"Ms. Dinah, what a pleasure to see you. And such good timing. I was about to start dinner for a visitor. I can easily add to it." He opened the door, a wordless invitation for Dinah to come in.
