"Yeah," she said, wiggling them for emphasis. "I can't just pull my own fingers off at night. It's the same with the wings. It took a little bit of getting used to at first--" as had getting dressed in the morning, and sitting in chairs, and adjusting to the new balance of having something hanging off of her back, "--but you can get used to anything with enough practice, right? And it's not like I'm getting nothing out of it. I can fly! It's incredible. Most people only dream about it." She smiled fondly, remembering the first few heady moments when she'd found herself in midair and realized what was going on. "I wouldn't trade them away for anything."
