Dinah's stomach twisted at Zee's reaction. She put her mug down and looked her friend straight in the eyes. She was truly sorry.
"The only reason Dean knows is because he lives above the shop. It was wrecked from the fight and he wanted to know why."
She took a deep breath.
"Zee, I didn't willingly tell anyone. It sounds stupid, but this felt... personal. He walked into my shop and wiped the floor with me. I didn't want to see anyone hurt and I didn't know what to do. I'm not used to feeling..." she searched for the right word. "Powerless."
She was used to being able to handle anything that came her way. Used to at least being able to come up with a plan. This had caught her off guard and it was a little hard to go to her own team and admit that she didn't even know where to start.
