There were times when Shadowcrest knew not to screw around. This was one of those times. But it also remembered Dinah and approved of her friendship with its mistress so it didn't really act out much around her. So there were two mugs of steaming coffee with a good dose of whiskey in it waiting for them in the sitting room when Zee got her friend in there.
"What's say we avoid the fae wine until we're out and about amongst hotties with looser morals than me?" She chuckled quietly as she got Dinah into a chair then handed her a mug of liquored up goodness.
She took a seat across from her friend with her own mug in hand and leaned on the table. She knew exactly what Dinah was going through since John would pull his disappearing acts all the time. It might not be the same as losing the equivalent of a son, but an empty spot in your heart hurt no matter who left it.
"I'm sorry, sweety. I'd offer to scry but I don't think it would do any good."
