Hatter actually smiled a bit sheepishly at her comments on his name. He supposed he could just try and pass it off as a surname, but why bother? Nothing seemed to be quite normal here. "I've gone by it for years. No one really knows when it started. Though I suppose it wouldn't surprise me to find a few hatmakers in my line." Not that he'd know, child of the streets and all.
Oh, no. And she was a Jack fan. Well, no one was perfect. "He's all right, I guess," Hatter offered, without much meaning to his words. Why would he? Hell, why should he? They weren't friends, they had never been friends, and he was willing to bet they never would be.
She was a wealth of knowledge, and he figured he might want to keep her around. Especially if she already knew where he was from and some of the things he knew and didn't know. It couldn't hurt to have someone like that. After all, he couldn't bother Alice with everything. Sooner or later she'd get annoyed and sometimes he really did like to seem like he was completely independent, even in this world. "You know everything?" he teased, smiling generously.
