"He's fun." Charlie continued to clean up her face before letting her go. He tossed the smudged tissues into the trash, but he didn't leave where he was. He was there for a hug or just a body near by. "A fun lie. You should tell him. Lies don't do as much good as truths. As long as the truth is the truth not just a select truth. Sometimes those can cause more trouble than a lie."
He gave her a slight smile. "We all left somethings and someones behind. And here we do want something or someone of our own. I have Ted. Though he is from my behind." He paused and actually hmphed, not quite a laugh, at how that sounded. "He and I are from the same place, which is not my behind." He smiled a little more.
"We all want something here that is ours. Ted has a job now. I have my job and you." He didn't hide it. "If he isn't a one night stand, then what is he? What do you want him to be? What does he want to be?"
Charlie leaned forward and touched her cheek. "We can all be taken. You should know that no one is here forever, especially with the job you do. We are always moving on to our next adventure. This moment is just that, a moment. Now you decide how you want to spend that moment."
