"Well, murders are somewhat against us because we are the police, the law. Murder is against the law, as we are the law, it is against us. So, yes, it is against us, but not us, just us the law us not us Jennifer and Charlie us." Charlie nodded, giving her a slight smile. He sighed softly as he looked at her.
"It could be alive alive, but I don't know. I've never met it. It could just seem alive, but it's not alive at all." The detective shrugged.
"Perhaps it is the size of the subjects involved? Or perhaps death is easier to push aside than large primates?" Charlie didn't think so, and Jennifer would know as much. Then he sat up as if he remembered something, which he had.
"There is a Dr. Temperance Brennan. She is new back to the City - she was here, then left, now she's back. She knows bones. She has helped the authorities in DC if I read it correctly. She may be of help. If she isn't someone who actually commits crimes, which I don't think she does. She didn't give me the smart genius killer type." Charlie looked away as if he was considering rethinking that. "But, I could be wrong. You should meet her."
