Charlie was distracted, which might have been usual for the detective. His mind was working through a recent crime and the fruit virgin he'd met earlier. It had been some time since he'd met someone who was so eager to learn about fruit, yet there was something about her. Charlie was so distracted that he hadn't brought in anything for his partner or himself, not even a few apples.
He walked in, removed his coat to hang on the coat hook they'd never really used before, and removed his jacket to hang on the back of his chair. He settled down at his desk and looked over at his partner who seemed in her own world as well.
"They're back." As if he could read her mind, but then both of them would be focused on those murders.
