Oh. Ohhh. He knew his Homer! The more Charlie talked about the Homeric works, the warmer her large, dark eyes became. Smile crinkles feathered from the corners of her eyes and her mouth turned curvy and delighted. It had been so, so long since she'd been able to talk about any book at all. How wonderful that she would find another person to chat with about the things they'd read! It'd been... Oh, it'd been a very long time indeed. She found herself warming even further to whom she was sure was a new friend.
When Charlie offered her the kiwi, Beauty's delicate fingers slid the slice from its blade and set it on her tongue. She narrowed her eyes and sucked gently, deliberating exactly what she thought about the taste. It didn't take long for her to decide that she absolutely adored it -- and her face showed it clearly.
"This is delicious!" she said brightly, once she'd swallowed. "Kiwi. I wish I knew about kiwi sooner than now! Thank goodness I came here today! And... what of the African horned fruit? How do you eat something with spines?"
