Megan trotted ahead, staying on the ground out of courtesy. "Oh, that's a good idea. Except for the job risk thing, that's bad, yeah. But it's nice while it lasts." She looked back every so often, making sure Dinah was still nearby and judging her reactions. "I used to be an X-man. I'm kind of taking a break right now. Or possibly retired, since I guess I can't leave here, but that might be for the best." Her face darkened a little, something changing slightly in her black eyes. "I got kind of in over my head back home."
She bounced onto the sidewalk, opened the door to let Dinah through, and didn't say another word until they were both inside the House of Coffee. "I know a little about the Mayor. I kind of spied on him? A little? Except it turns out I'm rubbish at spying so then we just talked for a while and I heard his point of view on things, but I wanted to ask someone who has, you know, the insider's point of view and who's been here longer--what's it like for us here? People with powers? Everyone's been pretty nice to me, but then there's all that and it's something I think I need to be aware of." She waved her hand at the free copy of the newspaper on the counter. "I've really had enough of being bullied around for the whole mutant thing."
