Dinah gave Alfred a light kiss on the cheek before he left to fix dinner.
"Thank you, Alfred," she said.
She turned her attention back to Dean once Alfred had left and looked him over appraisingly. She reached out but didn't quite touch the bruise on his chin.
"You need some ice for that?"
She frowned a bit. Dean wasn't the best of liars
"I think we both know that if you wanted to stop by, you would have used the front door instead of doing... whatever it was that caught Batman's attention." She sighed. "I'm going to guess this is about Eric, and I appreciate your concern but I don't want to lose you too."
Her voice was barely audible at the last bit. She took a deep breath before speaking again, her voice stronger this time.
"I'm going back to work tomorrow and the first order of business is a war council with the League to discuss how to deal with him. You're welcome to come if you'd like. And tonight you're welcome to hang around for a bit too. Alfred always makes too much food and I was just settling in for a Dr. Sexy marathon."
Maybe she was babbling. A little bit. It was hard to think about her friends putting themselves in danger in an attempt to protect her. It was harder to think about losing anyone else right now. And it was frustrating that she hadn't found a surefire way to make sure the vampire was no longer a threat to the people she cared about.
