"No, ma'am. He seemed to be only a little roughed up." Alfred smiled slightly, glad that Madam had not done much damage to the young man. Alfred walked along beside Dinah. "And, should I set the table for two? Will he be staying?"
He didn't want to push the subject, but he did like the idea that the young woman wasn't eating alone. It would do her good to eat with someone else. Although, Alfred also wished that Madam would stay for dinner with the young woman herself. He felt that Zoe and Dinah would find much common ground.
He walked her nearly all the way to the entryway, and then paused, brow lifting. It seemed that the young man had managed to dislodge one of the mirrors and was trying to put it back on its hangers. He was nice enough to cough to give the young man some warning.
