Dean looked a little confused as she listed her concerns, why she thought City was upset with her. He glanced over her shoulder at the Harry Potter wannabe's office. Ex? Then he looked down Dinah; hadn't they just gotten back together?
"The City's full of crazies, so I wouldn't worry about that." He actually gave her a slight smile, trying to avoid for the moment the latest bit of news. Then without a word, he pulled her to him to hold.
"I'm sorry, Dinah." His voice was soft, and hinted at how he knew that pain. Even just a hint of it. A hand slid up her back to run his fingers over her hair, it wasn't a pet exactly, but it was meant to soothe. "I'm so sorry." He kissed the top of her head as he held her. The hold wasn't so tight that she couldn't get away, but it was certainly tight enough to say he'd hold her for however long she wanted.
