There were candles burning, blood spread between them. There were dead things all around, and in the center of the chaos, there was a clean empty circle, big enough for the body that lie within it. It looked nothing like the body that she'd dealt with in the past, and she was certain this would be just as upsetting as what she had planned.
The small woman looked almost feral as crouched down among the blood, bits of life smeared over her skin. She spoke the spell softly, giving little voice but so much power to it. She was calling the City to the spot she'd picked for it. The body was waiting.
The candle flames blazed as more power was pushed through the room into the symbols on the floor and into that waiting body. She'd taken more of Eric's blood, drinking deeply before she'd started. The spell to call and bind the City was demanding more of her than the previous calling had. She didn't trust using the City's own power for this; it seemed too dangerous to trust that the City wouldn't take it just when she needed it.
