"It doesn't speak out loud, but there are certainly times when I feel as though it's trying to tell me something. Of course, there are other times when I feel as though it's merely a random pattern of actions-each more inconvenient than the last."
He stood as she did and led her out of the shop.
The question of what he did as mayor certainly entailed a long detailed answer. He took a moment to consider how best to sum things up.
"Well, I oversee the workings of the City. I'm responsible for drafting new laws when appropriate, for making sure that the various public service organizations-including the police force and fire departments-have the budgeting and staffing and various things that they need. Recently, I've been working on a project to attempt to build some sort of center for newcomers to visit that would provide answers about what the City is and what they can expect from here."
He frowned. The project had not been going all that well. It had run into a series of odd mishaps that made him wonder if perhaps the City was trying to attempt anything that might shed light on its inner workings for those that it had most recently taken hostage.
