"Friend or foe. You were outnumbered. I evened the odds." It didn't matter to the Bat if Rufio was an ally, but there was something a little bothersome about seeing someone so outnumbered like the boy had been. When the boy decided to start hacking and slashing, the Bat started reconsidering what side the boy might be of that good and evil line.
"You would be hard press to kill me." A hand lifted to indicate on the armor encased chest a possible injury. A warrior, an aged and tried one, knew the boy's stance and the way he was breathing meant something was certainly not right. "I'd cheat."
It was something of a joke, and an almost lie. Some may say the tranq would be a cheat; others would say tranquilizing the boy would save him further injury.
"You either kill them or make them run. You don't hack like that. They will be back." Zoe knew she'd had this conversation with the boy before, but perhaps coming from a more masculine voice and body the gorram boy would listen. It wasn't bad enough the dark armor was covered in spots of bright color.
