"You started it!" Fred knew that wasn't what she should say next, but it was what came to mind first. "I wasn't saying I shouldn't. You said I shouldn't. Or you didn't want me to. And, yes, I did break up with the mayor. He wasn't the mayor before. It was a mistake to kiss him that time because it was!"
Fred wasn't certain why she was yelling. She knew that she felt the need to speak rather emphatically, but he had started it, hadn't he?
"You could have kissed me rather than do some weird angry at me because I was saying good bye. I had gone to say good bye. He kissed me. You could have kissed me cause you didn't know." She took a deep breath and then sighed. "This is very confusing." She looked defeated for a moment.
"We're yelling at each other because we want to kiss, but then we don't and so we yell?"
