Thankfully, Fred wasn't leaning so much on him that she fell or followed after. She blinked and sat up straight as if she'd just realized what she was doing. She moved her chair back to show that she got the hint about needing space. She had personal space issues even now after living in the City for so long.
"Well..." She wasn't sure which issue to address first. "I could help you with the holes, seeing as you knew that was probably going to happen." She wasn't even sure how to answer the question; she'd asked it of herself a time or two.
"I don't know. He started calling me girlfriend, and I kind of liked it so I didn't exactly stop him. I liked being someone's girlfriend. He slept on my couch, I slept on his. I came on to him once or twice. I think he was just one of those guys who liked to take it slow and make sure everyone was ready. Just...it never seemed to be time. I don't know. I would have. He's a really good kisser. Then again, good kissing doesn't always mean good sex." She shrugged and looked at his screen, not at him.
"It was nice belonging with someone. Everyone left me here. So it was nice having someone who just wanted to be around me and didn't need me to fix something or monitor something. Or wasn't a complete slut." Fred would say she loved Jesse in the way a friend loves another friend, even with all their faults, and Jesse's was a big slutty one. She didn't know about Zoe after all. There was also the issue of Eric, and she did suspect he could and did have his way with anyone he wanted.
