Charlie lifted the watch, giving it a careful look over, before he tilted his head and listened. There was a hint of a smile as he heard the faint ticks of a watch that needed love. He lowered the watch to look at it, turning it over to see if there were an inscription on the back.
"It's like a neglected man; it needs someone who knows how to listen to it, someone willing to help it back to a strong ticking." He didn't look at her quite yet, and he didn't seem to mind that she was holding his ice cream. Not once did he manhandle or toss the watch; he was rather respectful of the abused time piece.
