The smile that lit up the youthful face may have shined with just a slightly different glimmer in the eyes. Yes, that was exactly what the crone wanted to hear. Her much smaller hand reached out and lightly touched his, stopping him from pulling the samples completely out.
"No. I mean, yes." She laughed softly, pulling her hand slowly away, just a hint of nails raking at skin. "I mean, yes, would you please keep them for now? Just for a little longer. I may know where I could keep them, but for now, protect them for me? There are people in the City who may want to do something to the blood that could be very dangerous." Her eyes widened.
"Oh, you'll probably think that I could...oh, you do believe that I wouldn't want to do anything to harm anyone, right? Not without reason. Though some would say there is never a real reason to harm anyone." There was the pout again. The crone certainly wasn't saying what side she stood on the harming people without good reason.
"If you could keep them with you for now, I'd have to make it up to you later somehow." The smile was sweet, but it hinted at promises of something so much darker. Something that she doubted the young scientist was still new, possibly.
