“Oh no,” she shook her head, then she got a worried look on her face. “I do not think he would like any other genies, he is not fond of watching me work. But even if he did, we do not work well together. And I do not like to share my masters. Do you think he needs me to do more for him?”
Jeannie forgot for the moment that the reporter did not know Sir Guy or her situation. She was caught up in the doubt that she might not be providing him everything that he deserved. While there had been masters that she did not enjoy serving as much as others, she was fortunate in that she had very few she did not like. And she truly liked Sir Guy. He was so sweet and considerate and kind and generous. She very much wanted to make him happy.
“And fairies do not have tails,” she explained, almost as an afterthought. “They have wings, and they are very, very untrustworthy. They steal, you know.”
