That raised Karrin's brows as well, but she couldn't help but smile a little. It was really amazing the kind of things that you could learn from the older generations, whether quirky and odd, or just plain historical. It was too bad most people didn't care about their history. Karrin supposed she was attached to her roots after following her father's footsteps into law enforcement, and also living in her grandmother's house, which she had kept nearly the same way as her grandmother had--with the addition of a collection of samurai swords. She didn't see that as a bad thing though. Sometimes you had to know where you came from to know where you were going.
"I love houses," she agreed, "Back home in Chicago, I live in the house that my grandmother left to me, but it doesn't seem to have followed me here." She sighed wistfully, then turned toward the woman with another smile. She couldn't shake the feeling that she knew the woman somehow, but maybe it was just the fact that she was also from the Midwest. "Are you looking to rent out one of your spare rooms, then?" she asked. She was most definitely interested.
