"Truth and trouble, both begin with t's." Charlie didn't add more to it, but it was a nice little coincidence. He did like those sorts of things as long as they didn't end up being completely painful or not at all coincidences. Being a homocide detective usually meant looking for what seemed like happenstance that was completely premeditated.
"Okay. The Park's that way." The detective motioned in a basic direction. "You should stop by Aldo's fruit stand if you pass by. Good apples. Not run by an Aldo, but it's still good fruit." Before she could get too far.
"Here." He handed her one of his cards with his name, rank, and phone number. "In case you get into trouble, or find yourself with a little extra truth." It wasn't that he didn't want to walk with her; she seemed interesting. It was more that she looked like she might not like the quiet moment when she realized he had been right. She reminded him a little of Reese, but it could have been one of those days that most women reminded him of his former partner. He really missed her sometimes.
