Raylan's curiosity had drawn him to the mayoral debate. That, and the prospect of free finger sandwiches. He had questioned his superiors at The City Law Enforcement offices why they had not put in place certain procedures to protect the candidates from crazed constituents, but they just laughed at him and said que sera sera. That didn't instill Raylan with a lot of hope for his future with his fellow peace officers.
So, imagine his surprise when the debate turned into a battle of swords between the candidate and a teenage boy.
Raylan dropped the piece of cake he was holding and made his way toward the stage.
"Keep back, people!" He called out to the bustle of crowding patrons who wanted to get a closer look at what was going on.
Cameras were out and pictures were flashing left and right. Eventually he made his way near the thin woman calling out to the people as well. Raylan tipped his hat to her when he caught her attention.
"Looks like you could use some help, ma'am," he said, removing his pistol from its holster. "Mind if I cut in?"
