"Yes. It helps to be dis- or misplaced on occasion. Puts life into perspective, doesn't it?" Jack smiled slightly before looking away. Truthfully, Jack was damn lucky to have climbed out here, not somewhere else. Whatever had freed the crone had been pretty damn powerful, and even she didn't want to face it. It felt like something/someone familiar and old, and there were somethings that the crone liked very much to avoid.
"Mm. You don't think it was natural?" Finally jack looked back at the doctor, brow raised in slight question. "Or are you simply putting that possibility out there to consider?"
The idea of having more time or warning was amusing, more so that that seemed very much what the doctor would what - more time to allow for analysis. Jack stared for a moment, then laughed again.
"I doubt you'd get much warning. And, remember, nothing in the City is truly natural. It is all a construct." Jack reached over again to pat the doctor's hand softly. "Don't think too much on that one; it will only hurt your head."
