Zoe had a feeling that would happen, but she didn't stop. The scream was to be expected, not that it made anything any easier. At that moment, she wished someone else was here, anyone else, even if all they did was shove a sock in the guy's mouth. Then he stopped pushing. Damn.
"Hey! Hey! Arthur!" It wasn't easy talking and holding up a beam. "You're gonna have to move. You should be able to. Com'on, soldier. Move!" Her voice shifted from hopeful to demanding, commanding.
"Push through it! Move!" She was straining, and she knew she'd have to carry him out. He just needed to stay with her til they were at least out of the hole.
