Arthur didn't have much left to scream with, since he'd been doing it for hours, but he gave a last proper CLANG with his gun when he heard someone shouting down. "Help!" he managed, hoarse. "Stuck!"
They were in the basement, even though now it was now mostly a pit filled with rubble and steel beams. Usually such an isolated place was a good bet. No one likely to interrupt, an easy exit to block. Of course, now he was pinned, and as he had broken his leg before, he knew what it felt like. That and he could smell his own blood under all the leaking rain water and plumbing.
