Dean was still surprised that their jaunt into the Police records had gone as well as it did. Logan wasn't bad; he'd mentioned in very mumbled brief passing that his dad had been an actor or something. But, Logan was a newb; he had the usual first time issues/jitters.
The interview with the woman who'd called in the ghost had gone okay, if "okay" meant horrible and fruitless. The woman couldn't stop talking about how much money she'd lost in buying new lingerie, and when she offered to give them a show in her new stuff, Dean was more than ready to get out of there. Dean was all for show and tell, but he didn't think it was the right time for showing and telling. Plus, he had a tag-a-long. The only remotely useful bit of info the woman had given was that her neighbor's kid used to be a transvestite.
They had no luck with the neighbor - he wasn't in. So, he told Logan to suit up the next day; they were heading to the Police station. Where they found out the neighbor had a few incidents on his record; they also found out that "used to be a transvestite" meant the kid had disappeared. What was racking the older Winchester's brain was that the building didn't exist before then - or if it did, it hadn't existed before then until recently, which was really doing his head in.
"Coffee, and pie. Fuel before we see if the good dad is in." Which is how Dean Winchester and Logan Echolls happened upon the same cafe as one Ms. Karrin Murphy, Holy Knight. The two were still in their "We really are FBI agents" suits.
