The girl behind the bark looked at the man - vampire, obviously - requesting to see her boss. She was unsure of going to get him, as he was particularly cranky these last few days. But there was a seriousness in the stranger that told her that there would just be arguments if she refused, and she wasn't stupid enough to get into an argument with a vampire. She'd seen many kinds of them here, and even the weakest ones were much stronger than she was.
She nodded and quickly made her way from behind the bar to the door of the office her boss occupied. She opened it to see him already staring at her in irritation. She didn't even need to say what she wanted. By the look in his eyes, he already knew. So she left again without saying a word.
Eric stood from his chair and took a deep breath.
The vampire who had arrived was not Lestat. He knew that instantly by the smell. Which he supposed he could be a little grateful for. He felt distinctly vampire, though. Not one that he'd met previously. Maybe one he wouldn't care to know now. But the man had come into the bar and asked for him. Either he knew already what was going on, or he was looking for something.
He moved at a human pace from the office and went directly to the stranger. It wasn't at all difficult to pick him out from the others in Fangtasia. He looked a little lost. A little unsure. And decidedly different from any of the others, who were in uniform.
Eric stood beside the bar and looked down at the new vampire.
