Gaius supposed that, given more thought and consideration, he could have made a better first impression on this potential constituent. But he really didn't want to fall into the same trap he had when he ran against President Roslin. True, he'd won that particular election. But sneaky pretenses had been involved. (On both parties.) And though he was well adept at lying, Gaius was teetering a new path in life. A path that, though possibly mapped out by the lovely blonde lady in his head, was not entirely clear to him. But what was clear about it, was that there was a new philosophy on the horizon for him. One that didn't bode well with so many half-truths.
He took Jack's hand in his own and gave it a shake. No more suspicious, paranoid peers in a silent attempt to judge the man's intentions. This was just a handshake. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Thank you, Mister Heart. And I appreciate you voicing your concerns. I do hope you will be in attendance for the speeches."
